A Pepperell native and North Middlesex alum, Dawson arrived from the Tilton School in Tilton, New Hampshire, where he had been the Assistant Admissions Director and Head Varsity Football Coach since 2019.

At North Middlesex, Dawson oversees 28 sports, close to 400 student-athletes, and a staff of over 50 employees. His responsibilities include recruiting and hiring coaches, budget management, promotion, compliance, oversight of all departmental operations and events, and collaborating with coaches and athletes to put North Middlesex teams in a position to succeed.

Dawson earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Sport Management from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where he was the captain of the 1999 Conference Championship team and a member of the 1998 National Championship team.

Matt is a North Middlesex Regional High School graduate, lettering in football, baseball, and hockey. While at North Middlesex, he was a member of two teams that played in the Boston Garden and ultimately won a state championship in hockey. In addition, Matt was a proud member of four Super Bowl-winning teams with a four-year record of 42-2.

He enjoys spending time with his family, listening to music, and all things sports-related.
