SEASONAL

  • As Flu season is upon us, we wanted to share some important information with you.

Strains of the flu virus change from year to year. Each year the flu vaccine is formulated for the strains that are most likely to cause a virus. It’s for this reason that the CDC suggests everyone 6 months and older should get a flu vaccine every season. Interested in the vaccine but concerned about its side effects? Visit Key Facts About Seasonal Flu Vaccine (CDC) for the most up-to-date information about this season’s vaccines and flu strains.

Whether or not you personally make the decision to get a flu shot this year, the MNHG health insurance is accepted at CVS pharmacies for flu shots. There is no appointment necessary, but you may want to check to see if they have the flu shot in stock.

Take everyday preventive actions to stop the spread of germs!

    • Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. After using a tissue, throw it in the trash and wash your hands.
    • Wash your hands often with soap and water. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand rub.
    • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth. Germs spread this way.
    • Clean and disinfect surfaces and objects that may be contaminated with germs like flu.
