Compliance & Testing
Asbestos
Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA)
In compliance with the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act of 1986 (AHERA), all schools in the school district are required to inspect their buildings for asbestos-containing materials and to develop a Management Plan. All schools in the North Middlesex Regional School District have completed this Inspection/Management Plan.
A copy of the district's Asbestos Management Plan is available and accessible in each school office for public review during regular office hours.
The district continues to update and improve the AHERA Asbestos Management Plans. Any inquiries regarding the management of asbestos-containing materials in our schools should be directed to our distirct's AHERA Designated Person, David Amari, who can be reached at:

Pest Management
Integrated Pest Management (IPM)
Before conducting any pesticide related work in schools, daycare centers and school age child care programs, pesticide applicators must ensure that the appropriate IPM Plan is on file with the Department of Agricultural Resources. Check to Locate a Plan link on the sidebar.
Applicators are also required to provide administrators with standard written notification information including a notification form, a consumer information bulletin and appropriate pesticide fact sheets. Applicators need to be sure that the appropriate notification procedures have been followed before they do any pesticide applications outdoors on school property.
