Business

Nancy Haines is currently in her sixth year as the Business Manager for the North Middlesex Regional School District. Prior to holding this position, she served as the district Senior Accountant for two years. Nancy is a certified School Business Official through the Massachusetts Association of School Business Officials (MASBO) as well as a Massachusetts Certified Public Purchasing Officer (MCPPO). Nancy served on the High School Building Committee in this capacity. She is also a Certified Governmental Accountant (CGA) certified by the Massachusetts Association of Auditors and Accountants (MMAAA).  

Prior to coming to North Middlesex, Nancy served as the Town Accountant in Ashby and Ashburnham. Nancy has a background in installing and training accounting software in the private sector.  

Nancy earned her undergraduate degree from Colby-Sawyer College and is working towards a Master’s in Education program at Worcester State University.

Kevin Cormier taught math at Nissitissit Middle School in Pepperell for 15 years before transitioning to leadership roles in the District Curriculum office, including the Director of STEM, Director of Data & Accountability, and now serves as the Assistant Business Manager for NMRSD.  Kevin has a Master's degree in Curriculum and Teaching from Fitchburg State University and a Doctorate in Math and Science Education from the University of Massachusetts Lowell.  Kevin also has a Certificate in Education Finance from the Edunomics Lab at Georgetown University.  In the past, Kevin has served in the Teach Plus Policy Fellowship and as a member of CURATE, the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education's curriculum review panel.

Chris Hinckley has been the Accountant for the North Middlesex Regional School District since 2015.   He previously served in financial roles for Ayer, Chelmford, Wayland, and Haverhill school districts.   Chis has his MCPPO certification, DESE SBA license, and is working on his MMAAA certification for accountants and auditors.   He is a proud graduate of Umass Lowell.   Go River Hawks!

Jackie Smith began working for the North Middlesex Regional School District in 2022.   Her role within the North Middlesex business office is to review, record and pay all district invoices and employee reimbursements.  She is responsible for establishing and maintaining vendor relationships.  Jack is also responsible for the collection, processing, and depositing all payments coming into the district. She assists payroll and human resources with day to day business and administrative tasks.

In her spare time she enjoys reading, gardening and spending time with her family.  As a resident of Townsend and prior graduate of NM, she is proud of the work that she does and thankful to be able to serve her community.
