Cathryn Hampson, MSN, RN, NCSN - Supervisor of Health Services
Cathryn received her Masters of Science in Nursing from St. Joseph’s College of Maine and her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Fitchburg State University. She has over 30 years’ experience as a nurse, with more than 20 of those in school nursing. She has worked in hospital, community and school settings throughout New Mexico, South America and New England. As a school nurse, she is committed to lifelong learning and education. She manages both the health services program for the district, as well as the SECC health office, and seeks to support the various medical and social emotional needs of NM students. Collaborating with district staff, community support and students’ families enables her to ensure that the students are safe, healthy and ready to learn. She offers opportunities for staff training throughout the district on a variety of health topics, including safety and emergency preparedness.
Cathryn is an active member of the school community, participating on school and district committees. She currently serves as Chair of the Wellness Committee. She is also active professionally at the regional and state level with the Massachusetts School Nurse Organization as Immediate Past President and Chair of the Advocacy Committee. She is on the Children’s Mental Health Task Force with the Massachusetts Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics’ as the MSNO Liasson and is a presenter for NASN's School Nurse Emergency Triage Training (SETT) program.
