About Tara Hanley: This school year is the 8th year that Tara Hanley has been the Principal of Varnum Brook Elementary School. For 5 years prior, she was the Principal at Ruggles Lane School in Barre for the Quabbin Regional School District. She was the Assistant Principal at Varnum Brook for 2 years and was a Teacher of Children with Special Needs at Spaulding Memorial School for 9 years.
Education: Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from Northeastern University, Principal Certification from Merrimack Leadership Academy, a Master of Education in Special Education and Bachelor of Science in Education from Fitchburg State (College) University.

About Jill Jarvis: Jill Jarvis is in her 8th year as the Assistant Principal at Varnum Brook Elementary School. She has 22 years of experience working within elementary and middle school education as a School Counselor, Social Worker, Clinical Director, Assistant Program Director, Evaluation Team Leader, and now as an Assistant Principal.
Her career began in 1997 where she was as a School Adjustment Counselor in Middleboro, MA. In 1998, she was a Clinical Therapist and Specialized Foster Care Social Worker where she supported elementary and middle school aged children with extensive trauma backgrounds. She continued to work 9 years as a Clinical Coordinator/ETL for two collaborative school districts (Bourne and Chelmsford, MA). In 2000, she has assisted in the development of a new therapeutic program for latency school-aged children in Bourne, MA. She decided to bring her special education background into a public school setting in 2007, where she worked in the North Andover Public School District as an ETL for 4 years prior to gaining employment in North Middlesex Regional School District as an ETL in 2011.
She brings with her an extensive knowledge base and passion for special education and quality instruction and support for the students of North Middlesex Regional School District. She has been in a leadership/administrative role since 2000 and has strong beliefs that we need to care for all students and their families, teamwork is essential to the success of a school along with upholding professional expectations for all.
Jill Jarvis is a member of the Massachusetts Schools Administrators’ Association and the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD).
