    Debbie Baird, RN - School Nurse at SECC 

    The school Nurse at SECC is Debbie Baird, RN.  Debbie has 35years experience as a nurse, 21 of those in a school setting.  She has had a total of 19 years at NMRSD, while raising her family in Townsend. 

    Debbie' goal, as a school nurse, is to provide a safe environment for children where all health needs can be met.  She has extensive experience with special needs, including medical, and works to have all children thrive in the school Community.   

    Debbie Cappucci - School Secretary

    Mrs. Cappucci has been a school secretary in the district for 18 years. She started at Squannacook Elementary in February 2001 when it was grades 3-5.  The school closed in 2009 and she moved to Hawthorne Brook Middle School until 2011, and when that office went to one secretary she was moved to Ashby Elementary School from 2011 to 2014.  The secretary who worked at the preschool moved to Nissitissitt Middle School in 2014 and Mrs. Cappucci then moved from Ashby Elementary to Squannacook Early Childhood Center.  

    Mrs. Cappucci has been married for 44 years and has three grown children and four grandchildren ranging in age from 2 years to 18 years old. Mrs. Cappucci likes to travel, shop, cook and spend time with her family and friends.

    Alyson Palmer, MOT, OTR/L, Occupational Therapist Debbie Baird, RN/ Debbie Capucci, Secretary 

     Mrs. Palmer has been an occupational therapist for 21 years, with 11 of those years at NMRSD.  She has worked in all 3 towns, and currently works both at Varnum Brook and SECC/LEAP. Mrs. Palmer is married with three teenage boys who are active in football, basketball, lacrosse, art class, and making slime, which keeps her very busy after school.  In her free time, Mrs. Palmer enjoys reading, doing puzzles, running, and cooking with her family!

    Karen Ryden, M.S., CCC-SPL

    Mrs. Ryden has been a Speech and Language Therapist in the district for almost 33 years.  Mrs. Ryden has worked at schools in all three towns, but the majority of her time has been spent working with the Integrated Preschool program.  She loves the district’s youngest students because they make every day interesting! They are so proud and happy when the learn skills to help them communicate and interact with others more successfully.  Mrs. Ryden is married and has three grown children. She also has a sweet calico cat named Lucy. Outside of school, Mrs. Ryden likes to travel, try new arts and crafts, read, and spend time with her family and friends.
