Program of Studies - Principal's Message
It is with great pleasure that I present the updated Program of Studies for the 2019 - 2020 academic year. The courses you choose will help you to meet the North Middlesex Regional High School graduation requirements and, more importantly, allow you to develop your interests and broaden your academic understanding and skills base. We offer a wide range of courses at NM. I would ask that you think carefully about your choices so that your classes both satisfy your curiosity and help to prepare you for your college and career aspirations. It is important that you leverage every minute of your high school experience to help prepare you for life after NM. That means allowing yourself time to think and reflect, time to enjoy and achieve outside of the classroom, and time to work hard on your academics.
Please be mindful of the role your teachers, parents, and guidance counselors have in this process; they know you well and have the experience and expertise to help guide you. It is important that you get the right balance between pursuing your interests through rigorous classes and by taking advantage of the numerous extra-curricular opportunities that we offer.
The Program of Studies is constantly evolving and the faculty has added new electives to our rich course offerings. The faculty has played an invaluable role in this work, supported by the guidance department and overseen by Assistant Principal Laurie Smith. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who contributed to this work, whether in a big or a small way, including the many students who have taken the time to talk with me about their experiences with the NM curriculum.
