  • We at Hawthorne Brook we are committed to the care, safety, social and academic and emotional growth of your child. The transition to middle school can be a scary time for students (and parents!). The daily life of a middle school child can be an amazing time of wonder and discovery but can also be filled with an array of challenges that are typical of preadolescent and adolescent development. With the help of teachers, friends and family, students are able to navigate most of these challenges successfully.

    In-School Services include:

    Programs include:
    • Anti-Bullying Initiatives
     
    Transitions to North Middlesex Regional High School or other High School Setting include:
    • Support in course selection
    • Initiate contact with High School Guidance Department
    • Application Support
    • Reference Letter
     
    Additional Resources include:
    • Section 504 Coordinator
    • Special Education/Evaluation Team
    • Instructional Student Support Team Referral (ISST)
    • Tutor Referral
    • Outside therapist/counselor referral
    • Coordinator of in-school counseling with clinicians
